Rather (but not ridiculously) high up in the hills above Florence,
there is a rather touching Cat Protection Colony, and
apparently this is No.3 of how many total throughout the cittá I don't know.
There are small trim white houses with door flaps, 
agreeably spaced, fresh water,
but it's all empty, at least t'was when I looked in. . .
The cats were, perhaps, not properly told of the kindness and,
were probably off doing their thing about a quarter mile away,
in Boboli Gardens, or somewhere less humanly organized, and more cat-like.
