So glad I got out to see some (very little) of Trieste yesterday
because today the Bora has shut down everything.
I never thought WIND could do it, outside of a hurricane,
but this is a constant, noisy, raucous 60 mph gale,
that started blowing this morning and now,
at 6 p.m., hasn't let up one bit.
I can see a lot from my hotel windows - streets are
practically deserted, shops and cafes closed.
It's like a raging sandstorm, without the sand.
It's supposed to continue through tomorrow too, with perhaps snow.
We are on to Verona, whatever, or. . . we'll see.
Now down to Harry's Bar, again.
We are like prisoners in the castle.
Thanks be for the Internet, TV, minibar, bathtub,
my NOOK, good heat, tight windows, a big cozy bed.
