Biblical rains today, all day, in Firenze.

Even the palazzo has sprung a leak.

I got out twice: once, early this morning darted  

for coffee at Patrizio Cosi,

then to Scuola Toscana 

to see Daniela.

Thanks be for the Olympics today on TV,

Italian-style, few commercials,

complete open to close coverage,

I didn't miss a moment. . . 

It is still pouring at 11 p.m.

Tomorrow I'll run over and see

if the Arno has jumped its banks.
