Beans!

Tuscans are sometimes referred to as Bean Eaters.
I'm not sure if this is pejorative, an endearment,
or simply a reflection of the truth:
Beans are found on menus everywhere here.
The beans, most often cici or creamy cannelloni,
are served as a starter with bread, or a side dish
alongside fish such as Baccala alla Livornese,
popular as a Friday pranzo throughout Firenze.
