Lovely misty rain today in Firenze.
I was caught without an umbrella
(got pilfered from the drip bucket at lunch)
but the loss became a gift:
today's was a soaking but soft rain,
and the streets were deserted, all mine.
The colors were muted,
edges blurred.
Firenze is a brown city,
and today everything coordinated
perfectly in the gauzy light,
even the rushing, café au lait waters
of the Arno.
