For a city the size of Firenze,
to have a river slice right through it,
in this case the Arno,
is a very nice thing.
Sometimes the river rages, brown and turbulent
after a storm or big snowmelt up in the mountains.
But more often the river simply meanders
and is enjoyable to cross on the many bridges,
one side to the other, different worlds, neighborhoods.
On clear, sunny days
the reflections are amazing.
