Yes, I climbed these steps to Piazzale Michaelangelo this morning.

I hadn't planned to, but, as often happens,

 one thing led to another.

This shows only HALF the upward trek, 

the other half, already completed, is behind me.

I was amongst a school group of German kids

and frankly they didn't seem in much better shape than I,

or they were just kvetching about having to do it.

Their fun-loving teacher bounded up,

most impressively, cajoling his students to get-with-it.

Once at the top I was treated to the usual magnificent view

overlooking Firenze, encompassing il Duomo,

Baptistry, Bargello, Giotto's Campanile, and beyond

to Fiesole and the snowy mountains to the north.
