I am writing this from Scuola Toscana. Just finished my lesson with Daniela (l'imperfetto). The promised rain is holding off and the sun is shining. I'm going to walk over to Piazza della Repubblica and sit at Gilli and finally finish reading my book. Then I will swing over to Paperback Exchange and look for another.
I have my Canon with me, and have switched back to my 50mm lens; it's much more forgiving than the 100mm, although I am going to experiment with that lens some later, using the table as a tripod??? I went to the very friendly and helpful camera store across from the Duomo in hopes of buying a cheap-o Silk type tripod like I have at home which cost $20, but there the least expensive was Euro 60, so I passed, and will see first what I can rig up in the apartment. For my current PPSOP class I have to submit a 'level' shot, so I am thinking to line stuff up on the table, use my macro lens, and see what happens.
